The 44th Annual Convention of the Australian Pipeline Industry Association (APIA) will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13 to 16 October 2012. The 2012 Convention will cover a range of issues under the title: The Pipeline Industry – Expertise; Growth; Opportunity.

APIA's Annual Convention brings together participants from all sectors of the pipeline industry as well as other industries that are associated with natural gas and the transportation of energy, slurry and water. The 2012 Convention promises a mix of interesting and informative papers that will highlight the expansion of the industry and the new challenges and opportunities faced by pipeliners and the nation. The Federal Energy Minister, Martin Ferguson, has described a "golden age for gas" and this industry will provide efficient and effective transport to meet that increasing demand for gas. The industry will also focus on the expanding demand for water transportation and international opportunities.

The Australian pipeline industry is respected worldwide and APIA's broad membership base provides a tremendous depth of knowledge and information that is being transferred to the next generation of experts. The Business Sessions at the 2012 APIA Convention will highlight the industry's expertise, international influence and the many opportunities that are expected in the decades to come
