Disability Services Queensland Print E-mail

TMS Consulting has been working closely with Disability Services Queensland in the development and delivery of a Learning and Development program for the Disability Council of Queensland (DCQ) and Regional Disability Councils (RDC’s) across Queensland.  This program, which has been designed to increase the capacity and operational effectiveness of the DCQ and the RDC’s, has had a specific emphasis on self paced learning, managing team effectiveness  and personal leadership.  The program, which is based on the learning and development needs identified by DCQ and RDC members, consists of:

  • Facilitation of a number of learning and development sessions at DCQ meetings 
  • Development of a series of short self-paced workbooks for RDC members in:

o    Personality type and leadership
o    Effective communication
o    Team dynamics
o    Community representation

  • A group discussion with each of the 11 Regional Disability Councils on their workbook learnings through a series of one hour  teleconferences 
  • Delivery and analysis of a “Personal Effectiveness Survey” with DCQ members
  • Health checks and follow up sessions with DCQ members

Both Helen Wood and Michelle Edwards from TMS have received positive feedback from DCQ and RDC members on the benefits derived from this program both at a group and personal level.
