TMS makes a yearly donation to a charity at Christmas Print E-mail

In 2009, TMS donated $1000 to the 139 Club, a drop in centre for the homeless or anyone experiencing difficulties in their lives. The club aims to provide a better quality of life for the homeless, destitute and socially isolated people.  It is a government supported initiative from Monday to Friday.

On the weekends, however, there was no service until 1998 when a Brisbane citizen by the name of John Hunt decided to organise lunch on Saturday and Sundays.  John’s view was that only food that he would eat at home would be served and organised volunteers to provide funding for the food and time to cook and serve the food.  To operate these lunches, it costs at least $6000 a year.

TMS became aware of the services offered on weekends as one of its staff is a regular volunteer, assisting in preparing and serving lunches once a month.

Helen Wood, Managing Director of TMS was pleased to provide Ian Muir, Chairman of directors of Hunt 4 Homeless Co. Ltd which coordinates the weekend volunteers at 139 Club, with a cheque for $1000.
