The Board has maintained a reflective approach to its procedures and communication style over a three year period following a single TMS workshop. The result is a robust social group, in which individuals communicate respectfully, but without fear, in an environment in which we are safe to “call each other out” on assumptions and poor or unclear communication. Emotions are acknowledged at individual and group levels, and all directors take responsibility for maintaining the focus of meetings. Despite a period of difficult decisions having to be made under considerable time pressure, Board culture has remained positive and productive.
