TMS Consulting’s Chief Executive Officer, Helen Wood, has been named as a finalist for the 2014 Telstra Queensland Business Women’s Awards.
Ms Wood, one of six women included in the category of Business Owner, said she was delighted to be considered for the award.
“I am incredibly honoured and excited to have been named as a finalist. Obviously, the Telstra Business Women’s Awards are extremely prestigious and the calibre of the finalists – not to mention past winners – speaks for itself.”
Nominated with Ms Wood in the Business Owner category is Capt. Jan Becker from Becker Helicopter Services, Fiona Cosgrove – Wellness Coaching Australia, Sharon Kneen – Eskay Kids, Michelle McDowall – Arabon Accountants, and Francesca Webster from Brazilian Beauty.
“I wish all the finalists the best of luck and look forward to meeting them and learning more about their achievements over the next few weeks”.
Running for over twenty years, the awards celebrate Australia’s outstanding entrepreneurs and innovators, recognising the positive impact they have made both in business and the community.
Ms Wood credits much of her success to her team at TMS.
“It may sound clichéd but you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with and I am grateful for having a brilliant team that inspires me to come to work each day and do the things we do. Together we do great work and provide real value for our clients,” Wood said.
Ms Wood started her management consulting business in 2006 after a long and rewarding career in the public sector and has seen the company flourish over the last few years.
“It is amazing to think that just three years ago we were a very small team and now we have over 40 staff across both our core team and working on projects with companies across Australia”.
The awards night will take place on Tuesday 30 September in Brisbane. The Queensland winners proceed to the national finals in Melbourne on 26 November.
